Configuration dialog box

The Configuration dialog box contains a number of options for setting up the look and behavior of the table of contents. If necessary, you can enlarge this help file window to view the entire image.

The following chart explains the Configuration options.

Table of Contents options

Option

Description

TOC Style

Click  the arrow to select one of the named TOC Styles.

Ignore Rules

Opens the Ignore rules dialog box so you can  to select different rules when composing the table of contents. This dialog box is described in Ignore rules dialog box.

TOC Title

Enter a title to apply to the table of contents slide(s).

Append numbers on spanned TOC slides

If checked, this option appends a number to the table of contents slides that span more than one page. For example, Agenda, Agenda - 2, Agenda - 3, and so forth.  This option is only enabled when the Span TOC multiple slides option is checked.

Slide number style

These options are only enabled when the table of contents includes page numbers.

Comma - on the TOC pages, separates titles and page numbers with a comma.

Tab - on the TOC pages, separates titles and page numbers with a right-aligned tab.

Include links on slide numbers

Converts slide page numbers in the TOC to hyperlinks to the corresponding page.

Links are only operative in PowerPoint's Slide Show view.
This option is only enabled when the table of contents has numbers.

Include Title slides

Includes title slides, that is slides that only contain a title, in the table of contents.

Note: You must include either Title or Normal slidesor both.

Numbers on title slides

Includes the slide number on title slides. You must first enable Include Title slides.

Include Normal slides

Includes normal slides in the table of contents.

Note: You must include either Title or Normal slidesor both.

Numbers on normal slides

Includes the slide number on normal slides. This option is only enabled when Include Normal slides is selected.

Indent normal slides (inches)

Sets the indentation, in inches, of the normal slides on the table of contents.

Use two columns

Creates a two-column table of contents.

Span TOC multiple slides

Allows the TOC to span multiple pages if it is too large to fit on one page.

Description

Open Configuration on new TOC

Opens the Configuration dialog box in a presentation that does not already include a table of contents, so that you can create a new TOC.

Show labels on add-in buttons

If checked, toolbar buttons will show labels next to the button icon. This option is only available on older versions of PowerPoint.

General buttons

Save the configuration settings and close the Configuration Dialog.

Cancel

Close the Configuration Dialog losing all changes made. Note that no further confirmation will be asked.

Save

Save the current settings as an existing or new Named Style.
