Formatting example

Imagine that you have the following table of contents, where section headings come from Title slides and normal headings come from Normal  slides.

In this example, you want to make the following changes:

Change section (title) headings to bold, italicized, and a larger font size.
Change normal headings to be slightly larger than they are, but still smaller than the title headings.

Begin by applying the new formatting to the first word of the first section (title) heading; in this case, First. Then apply the new formatting to the first word of the first normal heading; in this case, Normal, as shown here:

Click the Insert/Update TOC button and the table of contents is reformatted, as shown below:

Note: Although in this example we have applied the new formatting to the first word, PowerTOC only considers the formatting of the first character when it updates the table of contents.
