PowerTOC places the table of contents within a PowerPoint text frame on a new slide. If the table of contents is very long and you have configured PowerTOC to do so, the table of contents may span more than one page. You have many choices about its formatting. For example, you can reposition the table of contents frame or use different fonts on its text. In addition, you may want to format Normal and Title headings differently.
PowerTOC recognizes the following formatting aspects:
| • | Font attributes such as bold, italic, and underline. In PowerPoint 2007, you can also use shadows. |
| • | Background color of the table of contents text frame. |
| • | Width and position of the table of contents text frame. If you are using tabs to separate slide headings and numbers, you can adjust the horizontal spacing of the tab, but it always right-aligns on the text frame. |
| • | Vertical space before and after the lines. |
Important Note
PowerTOC assumes that the format you want to retain is that of the first Title and Normal slides of your presentation. Therefore, make sure that you always modify the formatting of the first instance of both types of slides; otherwise, your formatting changes will be lost the next time PowerTOC updates the table of contents.
